A journey that could change

everything

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me – watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

– Matthew 11:28-30

The Journey

RHYTHMinTWENTY is a journey for twenty leaders. It’s the opportunity to find what it means to embrace your passion and calling. To establish a strong sense of rhythm and balance in the midst of challenges and resistance. And it’s about developing resiliency and deep community.

RHYTHM is three events over the course of three years. The point is, it’s more than a one-time conference, or a post-event passion, or a new year’s resolution. It’s different.

Real change happens when you create needed space for self-exploration, and invite in the voices of others who deeply care. You will spend time in conversation and reflection. You will absorb nuggets of wisdom that seasoned leaders have picked up along the way. And you’ll do it in relationship with other leaders hell bent on knowing God, finding rhythm, living the struggle and changing the world.

RHYTHMinTWENTY is a leadership event for men in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties. If you are interested in our event for men mid-thirties and older, check out roguejourney.org. To see events for women, visit reveljourney.org.

Know God.
Find Rhythm.
Live the Struggle.
Change the world.

Year 1

Estes Park, CO

The first year we focus on the idea of balance, passion and calling. We give you specific tools and the time you need to connect with just where your journey may be taking you.

With space for self-exploration and the voices of others speaking into your story, we hope to help identify just where you passion, dreams and talent may be taking you.

Add in a day of ultimate Colorado adventure, a ridiculous bed and breakfast, mountains, and a lot of good food. This week is sure to be a doozy.

Year 2

San Diego, CA

During the second year, we’ll explore the many deep connections that we need to travel the journey well. We’ll wrestle with what it really takes to maintain a deep connection to God, to the people in our lives and to the many things that bring us life along the way.

We’ll wade into today’s trendy topic of ‘community’, as we know that we will not survive the world of leadership (or the world itself) without people in our lives. We plan to bring the dream of journeying together come to life.

Not only do we hope for the relationships we develop while journeying through this event together, but we hope to help identify key relationship that will shape us in the circles from which we come.

Year 3

Estes Park, CO

And during the third year, we delve into the idea of resilience; that as we continue through the journey of our own failures and successes, our character will constantly be in the pursuit of God, at the height of our dreams, and in the midst of our deepest wounds and struggles.

As this journey comes to a close we plan to mark the time that has been set aside for change with a momentous close. With the inclusion of looking at what it takes to stay the course and finish well, we plan for this year to be the finish needed to live into this life of rhythm, balance, and dreaming huge.

The In-Between

Change rarely happens overnight. That is why we believe that over the course of three years we might truly have the opportunity to find a new way of living. This time is not meant to be rigid, but to be explorative in our lives, in our world, in our own families, as what it means to find rhythm. Yet the hope is that you will not explore alone.

With the lives of twenty others journeying together and the resources provided by yours truly, we believe that change is inevitable.

It’s hard to entirely define what this time looks like, but what you can expect is to collectively engage the depth of our lives together, from a distance. We’ll connect via multiple avenues throughout the year, while providing the invitation to a new rhythm in your own journey and connection with God. This time won’t be rigid or incredibly time consuming… but we understand that the more we put in, the more we get out. Simple physics really.

The Cost

$525 per event

Bottom line: There are people who deeply believe that the lives of twenty young leaders who find a different sense of rhythm to their life and ministry, will make an incredible difference in this world. That’s why, despite the cost of these three years, you only have to come up with $525 for each event and get yourself to where we are.

The impact that we believe will come from the lives of 20 young leaders is worth enough that we have done our best to make sure money will never get in the way.

Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.

What is Harbor Ministries?
What age group are you looking for?

Old enough to know better yet young enough to change. So probably somewhere between mid-twenties to mid-thirties. If you are 40 or older check out roguejourney.org

I’m 35 with a family, why should I apply for Rhythmintwenty?
You should apply because you’re 35 and you have a family who need you as much or more than anyone else you journey with. You feel like you’ve gotten the hang of ministry or business, but balancing it with family and life has seemed impossible sometimes. You’re a work in progress and you need a community of guys like you and some fresh ideas to help you find a healthy balance of work, play, and rest. RHYTHMinTWENTY isn’t the latest leadership fad or church growth seminar, its soul work in some of the areas that we all need most: family, rhythm, balance, and longevity to name a few. Honestly, your family can’t afford for you not to apply.
I’m 25 and just getting started in this journey, why is rhythmintwenty worth my time?
The next three years may be some of the most important years of your life. Right now you’re young, energetic, and loaded with passion. You have dreams–huge dreams–that you want to see fulfilled, but some days you just don’t see how to get there. You wish you had a group of guys who saw life with the same kind of urgency as you do and who are dreaming the same big dreams for the world that you are. Right now you are burning the candle from every possible direction and you have this hunch that if you don’t learn to live with some kind of rhythm and balance, twenty years from now you might be selling used cars or grave stones. Hey don’t worry, people need grave stones and cars so they can drive to funerals, but we believe that if you learn to focus your passion and calling, harness your energy, and live a life with balance you’ll leave a much bigger mark on the world.
